Yu-Teng Chia Highly Sensitive Open-cavity Fiber Fabry–Pérot Gas Pressure Sensor Based on Vernier Effect
Yu-Teng Chia;Chin-Ping Yu

A novel open-cavity fiber Fabry–Pérot interferometers (FPIs) formed by splicing two hollow-core fibers with a large offset is connected with a sealed-cavity fiber FPI in parallel to induce the Vernier effect for gas sensing. Four times higher gas pressure sensitivity of -128 pm/psi can be obtained.

Tsung-Han Wu Broadband THz telecentric f-theta lens for real-time THz hyperspectral microscopy
Tsung-Han Wu

Terahertz (THz) telecentric f-theta scanning lens plays an important role in the THz hyperspectral microscopy system. Beam scanning using telecentric f-theta lens provides uniform spot size, linear displacement, and normal incidence angle at the focal plane. In this work, we design a telecentric f-theta lens with superior performance on distortion (<0.012%). We are competent to fabricate our scanning lenses by using CNC technology. We observe approximately 4mm spot size and a broadband image from 0.4 to 1.0 THz. As a result, our design can resolve different diameters circular patterns with resolution better than 5mm.

XIN LI LEE Optimization of Optical Autocorrelator with Low-Cost LED Based on Two-band Model
XIN LI LEE;Jui-Chi Chang;Shu-Yu Chang;Chia-Yuan Chang

Autocorrelator is widely used in measuring ultrashort pulse. Conventionally, an autocorrelator collocates with an expensive BBO crystal. Based on the two and three photon absorption property of light-emitting diodes (LEDs), we can replace the crystals with very low-cost LEDs. The two-photon absorption (TPA) and three-photon absorption (3PA) of LED are simulated based on the two-band model and verified with experiments. The interferometric autocorrelation is measured by using red LED and get background-signal ratio equals to 1:8.

Yi-Lun Su The Periscope-type of Mobile Phone Lens with 10 Optical Zoom Design
Yi-Lun Su;Wen-Shing Sun

A periscope zoom lens depth depends either on the prism thickness or the maximum aperture of the zoom lens in the Y-direction. To reduce the periscope zoom lens depth to 7 mm for Mobile Phone device and use a 5 megapixel sensor as 16:9 aspect ratio sensor with rectangular aperture.

Hong-Yi Lin An Image-Based Collimator for Measuring Focal Length of Optical Lenses
Hong-Yi Lin;Chuen-Lin Tien;Chih-Kai Chang

We present an optical measuring system for the focal length of optical lenses. Four different lenses were tested by the proposal method. The measuring ranges of focal length were 16 to 100 mm. The results showed that difference value of the focal lengths was less than 0.5 mm.
